Friday 19th October and Saturday 20th October saw two students from Kokoro Academy attempt to become the academies first students ever to achieve their 1st Degree Black Belts in Taekwondo.
The grading took place in Ilkley, West Yorkshire at the Taerigido Academy under the watchful eyes of senior martial art practitioners. The Friday evening session involved the sparing session of the grading and both students did themselves proud.
On the following day they returned to the testing venue to complete their grading, the day included all Black Belt patterns, Self Defence and a demonstration of breaking techniques.
At the end of the 3 hour session on the Saturday they were rewarded for all their hard work with their 1st degree Black Belts in Taekwondo. This is the first time that any student from the Academy has been eligible to grade for a Black Belt in Taekwondo. All the Instructor team are extremely proud of their achievement and look forward to seeing their progression in the future.
